Privacy & cookies notice — last updated 18 September 2026
Short version: this site sets no tracking cookies, sells nothing about you, and uses cookieless analytics that you can switch off below.
Who is responsible

This website, epappas.dev, is run by Emmanouil Pappas, an individual based in the United Kingdom. For anything privacy-related, email hello@epappas.dev.

What is collected

The site uses Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and where visitors come from. Plausible collects:

  • the page address and the referring site, if any;
  • browser, operating system and device type;
  • the country, region and city derived from your IP address;
  • screen size and how long the page stayed open.

Plausible does not use cookies, local storage or any other persistent identifier. To count unique visitors within a single day it hashes your IP address and browser signature together with a random salt that is discarded every 24 hours; the raw IP address and browser signature are never stored. Data cannot be tied back to you and is never shared with advertisers or used across other sites.

Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia) processes this data on my behalf on servers in the European Union. The analytics script is served from this domain, so your browser does not contact Plausible directly.

Why, and on what basis

The only purpose is to see how the site is used so I can improve it. Because the statistics are aggregated, contain no personal identifiers and are not shared for any other purpose, they fall within the “statistical purposes” exception in the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and the processing relies on my legitimate interest in running and improving this site (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time using the control below.

Your choices

Use this switch to turn analytics on or off. Your choice is remembered in a small first-party cookie for twelve months and applies immediately.

Turning analytics off stops the analytics script from loading on future visits and sets Plausible’s own opt-out flag in your browser for the current one, so no further page views are sent.

Storage this site uses

There are no third-party cookies. The only things stored in your browser are:

ep-consentFirst-party cookieRemembers your analytics choice so you are not asked again.12 months
plausible_ignoreLocal storageSet only when you opt out; tells the analytics script to ignore your visits.Until you opt back in or clear site data

Fonts, hosting and other requests

Fonts and icons are served from this domain; nothing is fetched from Google Fonts or another font provider. The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers see the technical details of every request (such as your IP address) for as long as it takes to deliver the page, as with any website. There are no embedded videos, maps, forms or social widgets.

Links to other sites

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Goodreads, Spotify, project sites and other external pages take you to services with their own privacy practices, which this notice does not cover.

Your rights and changes to this notice

Since no personal data about you is retained, there is nothing to access, correct or delete, but you are welcome to ask. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). If a new service is ever added to this site that needs your consent, this notice will be updated and you will be asked first.
